Sender IDs

A sender ID is the brand name recipients see instead of a phone number, for example PESARAILS.

Request a sender ID

Sender IDs are registered with the networks, so this step is done in the dashboard, not the API. You need:

• The one-off fee of KES 7,000, paid with M-Pesa.
• Your certificate of incorporation.
• The sender name you want, up to 11 characters.

Use it when sending

Pass the sender name as sender, or its UUID as senderId.
